In recent years, there
Our founders, Irene
Aesthetise ultimate goal is to offer an outstanding training program to those who understand the importance of being a true expert in the clinical esthetics field, a safe and efficient technician, a go-to person for skin improvement, a reliable and trustworthy source of skin solutions, and a professional who is ready to educate and guide in the emerging world of cosmeceuticals and advanced modalities.
Laser/IPL Hair Removal
Laser/IPL Hair Removal course offers an effective combination of skin anatomy, laser physics, customer relations, and Laser/IPL treatments as an integral part of new age clinical esthetics.
Throughout this training, every effort is made to ensure students are safe, effective, and well educated Laser/IPL technicians.
The NEWEST ADDITION to our program as we believe cosmetic chemistry is an absolute necessity in our profession!
As a Clinical Esthetician, a complete understanding of the ingredients you are working with, their interaction with the skin, and how they can influence the treatments prescribed is mandatory.
Advanced Clinical Facials
Here we cover a combination of anatomy, biology, ingredients knowledge, implements and modalities, skin analysis, client relations, and treatment planning.
The main goal of this training is to help students become experts in treatments that effectively promote skin health and rejuvenation.
Aesthetise programs are constantly evolving and we are happy to share new knowledge and industry updates through short webinars (1 – 3 hours), to our students and graduates, as well as our industry colleagues wishing to learn more. These webinars cover a variety of topics based on: clinical cases that Lizanne Viljoen comes across in her practice as an owner of V-Medi Spa; and research done by Irene Arefeva through the Society of Investigative Dermatology, International Society of Oncology Esthetics, current trends discussed at industry conferences, as well as on the questions we receive from our colleagues and patients.
Some of our most recent webinar topics include “Pigmentation Issues and Modern Day Solutions”, “Spa Business – New Reality”, “Collagen and Elastin. What We Know and What We Assume”, and “Oncology Esthetics”.
Born and raised in South Africa, Lizanne moved to Canada after completing her degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Psychiatry and Home Care. Her interest in cosmetic medicine and clinical esthetics was born out of her medical background and working with her husband, Dr. Adriaan Viljoen, one of Canada’s most sought-after cosmetic physicians.
Lizanne was responsible for product training at a skincare company when she recognized a great gap in the industry: high level, quality education. Combining her medical esthetics background with MBA, she became an integral part of this program.
Apart from a passion for sharing her expertise, Lizanne is a certified scuba diver, like exercising with her family to keep fit, and pursues a healthy lifestyle, and recently joined ACAD to pursue her passion and talent in painting. Even though Lizanne is busy with her new endeavor, she still finds time to consult our students on esthetic business structure and keys to success.
Our Director of Training has been in the clinical esthetics close to 2 decades. Irene’s B.Ed/B.A combined with multiple trainings in Clinical Esthetics disciplines offers the students of Aesthetise a European training approach to skin assessment, treatments, successful incorporation of variety of modalities with product mixology, and maintenance. She is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association, Society For Investigative Dermatology, Certified Oncology Esthetician. Her clinic Skin Coach is offering wide range of highly effective treatments incorporating the latest advances in the esthetic industry with the science of the skin biology. It is also the place for everyone undergoing oncology treatments to receive an advice on safe skin maintenance and product selection.
Irene frequently participates in professional industry conferences and seminars as an attendee and as a lecturer. She has been asked to write newspaper articles pertaining to the specifics of skin maintenance in our climate, and also organizes events for ladies interested in healthier and younger looking skin. Clinical Esthetics is her passion and it is impossible not to get inspired during her classes.
When not teaching or researching Irene spends time travelling, snowboarding, enjoying yoga and Krav Maga, playing on stage as a part of the Russian Community Program, spending time with her son and a beloved puppy Zeuss, and perfecting her skills in healthy cooking.
